Something has gone astray in America.

It makes one wonder today why we want to work so hard only to see others get the same services for free. I know a couple who are self employed and paying $1300 a month for health care insurance. And believe me this is not the best that is offered.

Most of us go to work each day when you are young so you can afford to buy a house and a decent car to drive. To raise a family and take care of kids that you have. Then the government takes taxes out of you hard earned check that you get each week. Then you get your property tax bill, you pay sales tax on everything you buy and then you are expected to live on what is left.

If I was inclined to do so, I could get the same benefits that you and I have, and for free. All that I would have to do is to lower myself to being homeless or being at a lower income level. I could go on welfare, food stamps and section eight housing. I could get my kids free meals at school and free healthcare from the state. I could get free money for heating my home and many other give away programs that we have today. All this and no one in my family would have to do a lick of work. I would not have to worry about that drug test that some of us have to take to keep our jobs. I don’t worry about my other needs because someone from the government I am sure will come around and ask me what services that they can give me with your tax money. I could even go to college and get my maintenance check to blow however I wanted to with a student loan that I would not have to pay back because I have no income or have a tax return.

So I ask you this question. Beside the drive to succeed in life, is there any benefit today by working hard? Why did I write this? Maybe to get some you thinking.

Not to mention one could always take up the drug trade or get involved in the gambling rackets. It's all cash and Uncle Sam isn't the wiser. I mean getting a 1099 for dealing crack? C'mon now...
