"State Health Commissioner Judy Monroe said Wednesday that Indiana won a five-year grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to pay for nutrition, physical activity and obesity prevention activities developed for its statewide obesity plan.
For the first year, the CDC grant will be for $435,000, an amount that is expected to increase in coming years, depending on the state's ability to show progress, Monroe said." http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080529/LOCAL18/805290484/1304/LOCAL
Now just what is all this money going to be used for? Maybe they will pay you to loose weight. Remember $435,000 is only the first payment of five and they look for it to increase.
This will be just like the tobacco money that went for you to stop smoking. You will see none of it or be able to see where it is spent. Maybe they will improve their web site on weight lost. Remember that Grant money is your tax dollars.
