City Council

City-County Councilwoman Doris Minton-McNeill was arrested is only the start of this story. Many details are coming out as Monday morning.

It seems that this council woman thinks that since she is on the city council, she was above arrest with the very same statement to the police. She also refused to take a breathalyzer test. One of the officer was treated at the hospital.

She made a point to tell the police involved how racist all white officer were that was on the Indianapolis police department. Minton-McNeill is an administrative assistant with Indianapolis Public Schools. It is also reported that she lost bladder control on the way to jail.

As reported by Advance Indiana, Marion Co. GOP Chairman Tom John released a statement this evening calling for Minton-McNeil's resignation from the council. Here's his statement:

"We are deeply saddened that once again a Democrat member of the City-County Council has shown such public comtempt for law enforcement and disregard for the laws of our great city and the State of Indiana. The citizens of Indianapolis demand leaders who are servants of the law, not people who think they are above it. Doris Minton-McNeill should immediately resign her seat on the City-County Council. I also call upon Democrat leaders such as Minority Leader Joanne Sanders and Marion County Treasurer Mike Rodman to join us in our call for Minton-McNeill to resign. They failed to act before when people like Monroe Gray felt they were above the law. I sincerely hope they act now that such a situation is unfortunately occurring once again."

Be prepared to hear everything from this is because she is black, she is a democrat that usually follows this type of news. I hope that our city council do not lag in action as they have done in the pass of this kind of actions by one of its members. I hope that the citizens do not lag in action like they did in the Monroe Gray issue. This will show us if the "Ballard rules" and the new city council will hold their members up to accountability. There is a city council metting tonight at 7pm.

Funny how there was a deafening silence from both parties in the council when she was there
